1Lync Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how 1Lync collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the 1Lync app, website, social feed, messaging, AI Studio, voice tools, and outfit try-on features.

1. Who we are
1Lync is a social and AI creation platform operated from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Contact us at privacy@1lync.com or +255 753 418 144.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, username, email, phone number, profile photo, bio, login method, and authentication identifiers.
- Social activity: posts, captions, comments, replies, likes, saves, shares, follows, profile views, post views, reports, and moderation signals.
- Messages and communications: direct messages, message media, voice comments, voice notes, delivery and read metadata, and timestamps.
- Media and AI data: photos, images, audio, video, voice samples, outfit references, prompts, generated outputs, editing drafts, and download/share actions.
- Payment and wallet data: credit purchases, balances, transaction references, payment status, package usage, and support metadata. We do not store full card numbers.
- Device and app data: IP address, device type, browser or WebView data, app version, language, timezone, crash logs, diagnostics, session data, and security logs.
- Local storage data: tokens, preferences, draft state, saved UI settings, and cache data stored on your device.
3. How we use information
- To create and manage your account, authenticate you, and operate guest and logged-in experiences.
- To run the feed, profile, followers, comments, likes, saves, views, inbox, notifications, search, and recommendations.
- To process uploads, generate AI outfit try-on images, generate or clone voices, render projects, and provide downloadable outputs.
- To process credits, payments, purchases, refunds, usage limits, fraud checks, and support requests.
- To detect spam, abuse, impersonation, illegal content, security threats, and policy violations.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, platform, and regulatory requirements.
4. AI processing and service providers
Some features use trusted third-party providers for authentication, cloud storage, CDN delivery, AI generation, image analysis, voice generation, voice cloning, moderation, payments, messaging, notifications, and analytics. We send only the data needed to provide the requested feature.
AI outputs can be imperfect. Review generated images, voices, text, or videos before posting or using them commercially.
5. Legal basis and choices
- We process data to provide the service you request.
- We process some data for legitimate interests such as safety, fraud prevention, reliability, analytics, and support.
- Where required, we rely on your consent for microphone, camera, media files, notifications, or optional AI processing.
- You may choose not to provide optional data, but some features may not work.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers, with other users when you make content public or message them, with authorities if required by law, or with a successor organization if 1Lync is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
7. Public content
Posts, comments, usernames, profile photos, display names, follower/following activity, and public profile information may be visible to other users depending on the feature and settings used.
8. Retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion if needed for legal, safety, fraud, or accounting reasons.
- Posts, comments, messages, AI outputs, and media are kept until deleted, expired, or removed under our policies.
- Payment and transaction records may be kept longer where required by law, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or dispute handling.
- Backups and logs may persist temporarily before automatic deletion.
9. Account deletion and data requests
You can request access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing privacy@1lync.com. Account deletion URL: https://1lync.com/legal/delete-account/.
We may verify your identity before completing deletion or data requests. We may keep limited records for legal, fraud, tax, accounting, safety, or dispute reasons.
10. Children and age
1Lync is not intended for children under 13. Because the app includes social, messaging, AI, user-generated content, and purchase features, we recommend use by users aged 16 and above unless a parent or guardian allows and supervises use where legally required.
11. Security
We use safeguards such as HTTPS, authentication controls, access restrictions, monitoring, and secure storage practices. No system is 100 percent secure, so protect your login details and report suspicious activity.
12. International processing
Your information may be processed in Tanzania and other countries where our hosting, AI, payment, storage, and infrastructure providers operate.
13. Changes
We may update this policy when our services, laws, or platform requirements change. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users.
